Thank you for a successful Family Fun Day!

Thank you to all that assisted "ATRO" Acadiana Therapeutic Riding Organization Family Fun Day 2013. Our Family Fun Day was this last Saturday at Lafayette's "Cabbage Patch" on the side of Blackham. The day was magical with all the great kids, families, volunteers, sponsors, animals, crafts, food, drinks, and activities. We certainly learned this year that next year we will position our booths closer on the property to allow shorter distance between booths. We were very blessed with sun shine but quite a few wished for cooler weather or overcast. I have to say that ATRO Family Fun Day 2013 was a BIG success! It was only successful because you were involved! I hope you realize how important you were to help this event be such a success. We hope you will consider attending and assisting us again next year. Please view the attached pictures and website to see just what ATRO is all about. Just as the thank you note states- "Because of good-hearted people like you, this world is a nicer place." I truly hope that all the good you do comes back to you 100 fold. Thank you again for your support on behalf of myself, ATRO students, parents, staff and volunteers.

"At Cherokee Ridge"

  Sometimes at night

 When dust and gravel

 Sift through my brain

 I go to Cherokee Ridge

 Where the sun basks

On women who get up close,

 Dip into pots

 And smear pictures

 On live horses,

 The colors blooming on

 The backs of horses

 The colors blooming out

 Of fingers

 In Rosie's mane

I am in my granddaughter's hair

 Smoothing out tangles

 Minding the brushstrokes

 Flowers here are lifted

 Freed from their cases

We set them in warm beds.

 We comb until something blossoms
